Mess hall
The next model building I am modelling is a long navy office/ mess hall as shown in this image, it’s a bit small in the shot but it’s a long, narrow building, which would normally have a set of windows up along the side of it, a door placed at the front in the middle with a window either side and the roof is usually pointed with a relieved flat top.
Starting with a box pre-set, once again considering the shapes segments I have added the number of segments to help construct this model mess hall building.
Using the vertex points, this screen shot is showing the selection of the top vertex points being moved to create the basic roof shape on this building.
Still selecting the vertex points, using the move tool, I brought to two rows of roof vertex points together in the middle leaving a small flat middle section for the next stage in constructing the roof.
As stated in the last screen shot the two vertex points were brought together in the middle, leaving a narrow flat section in the middle.
Its shown here that the flat section in the middle of the roof is being selected by the polygon tool and using the exude tool, the flat section in the middle if the roof has become a rectangle relief.
Its in this screen shot, the final part of roof is completed, selecting the vertex points on the relief rectangle in the middle of the roof, using the scale tool and the vertex points, the rectangle was scaled out to create the shape formed in the screen shot, So the roof has a angled top.
Here is another screen shot from a different perspective of the roofs construction completed.
In this screen I have gridded out on the base narrow box pre-sets and placed them on the sides and front of the mess hall building, at first I decided to place these on the sides of the building to cut them out, leaving a whole of where the shapes use to be, but this was not done, because it would leave lots of wholes in the model and as the pre-sets are hollow, it would not look right,.
So I decided to leave the box pre-sets on the side as they are relieved from the building and where the pre-sets are placed are not where the segments are on the building, so if I wanted to copy the location of the window placements on the building that would take a consuming time, moving around vertex points.

Then its time to texture, the same as the second hanger I used the corrugated metal texture for the roof once more as it makes the buildings consistent and I really like the texture.
Now this texture was gathered from this website to act as the mess hall buildings wall texture, as referencing that most army mess hall would have been build up from stone, this texture is suitable and out of the three textures I textured onto this model, this texture was the best in looks and layout on the model without creating blurry areas.
Here is a screen shot of the stone texture being applied to the model and in my option makes the model look very realistic and detailed.
Lastly to finish off the model, using the same glass texture used on the two previous hangers, I selected the box pre-sets representing windows and applied the texture and the screen shot speaks for itself, finishing off the model completely.
