An Intro idea for the 3D video I came up with when I was looking into how documentaries are presented

An Intro idea for the 3D video

This idea came about from when I was researching into how documentaries present themselves to the viewer and when I found a real broadcast recording on the actual event day, i decided to develop this idea further by using a microphone in the dark with lighting effects to go with the audio broadcast.

                                             http://www.radioremembered.org/chimes.htm
I started  first to look into time period microphones and I collected a image,  to visualize further what they looked like, then after selecting the appropriate  image to illustrate around, to create my own copy, using illustrator to draw around the image as can be seen by the screen shot above, there are alot of pen tool position points.

After creating all the shapes and details for the microphone image, I selected all the pieces and dropped them into Photoshop, where i went to Photoshop filter effects in the drop down menu and out of all the different effects i chose diffuse glow, which gave the microphone image an age dusty effect to relate to the time period of pearl harbour in 1941.
Once the diffused glow was chosen I then exported the image out of Photoshop as a PNG file, this way the image would work well with Adobe Premiere Pro software.

In this screen shot it shows the microphone image and the audio piece being imported into premiere pro ready to create the small intro video.

The effect that I considered for this video that I thought in my option would make the video stand out and look better visually was a video effect in the adjust drop down menu called lighting effects, applying the lighting effects to both a black background and the microphone itself gives the video objects shadows and a straight on light source giving a tone to the video.

Then once the lighting effects were added to the microphone and background, the audio was taken into Adobe Audition where I selected as shown in the screen shot, elements of the audio that was not needed for the short intro. I
then tweaked the audio down in noise and gradual volume at the beginning and end.
Then when I was satisfied with the results I saved it and as audition and premiere are connected the changed audio is altered in premiere as well.

Lastly in this section I went back to the lighting effects in the microphone and background and key framed the lighting source to angle and change positions as the video processes, from left to right, This way it gives the video a little movement whist the viewer is watching a black screen with one object on it.
Also to add to the video as the video processes along the timeline the microphone itself slowly gets closer to the viewer.
Overall in its state all that needs to be added is a grain effect to make the video look old, but this will have to be done in after effects because there is no grain effect in premiere and if required a title sequence could be added to the video.

Update : sadly in the final video it was not used.
